Davanagere: Violations of Cyber, Economics and Narcotics (CEN) Police wing Davanagere managed to help a victim of Cybercrime restore the money stolen from his account.
Venkateshwara Rao, a businessman from the layout of Saraswathi in Davanagere, was contacted by foreigners who pretended to be a bank officer on the telephone.
The stranger looked for the details of Bank Rao’s account, because entrepreneurs have blocked the ATM card.
The stranger convinced Rao to clean the ATM card to use, and after getting all the information needed, including OTP, needed for transactions, stole a number of Rs 1 lakh from the victim’s account.
The case was registered at the Davanagere CEN police station.
