Security was tightened around the New Zealand women’s cricket team after a threat was accepted in front of the international one day against England in Leicester on Tuesday.
England previously attracted their team and their women from Pakistani next month, three days after New Zealand left their tour in the country amid security issues.
Cricket New Zealand said email threatening was sent to the UK and the ECB Wales Cricket (ECB).
The website www.espncricinfo.com reported that the management members of the New Zealand team were told that the bomb would be placed in a team hotel.
“As reported, the ECB has received a threatening email related to NZC,” said the NZ cricket statement.
“Even though this is not specifically the reference to white ferns, it is treated seriously, investigated and is considered not credible.” White bones have now arrived in Leicester and, as precautions, security around them has been encouraged.
