Hubballi: Litani misery that disturbs residents of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Dharwad is almost endless: From the lack of the right playground at the local government to many households in the area not connected to the water supply network, the pathetic road conditions and lack of street lights.
The population has been attractive to officials of Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) and representatives selected to improve their problems, but their requests have been perfected.
It was Rajiv Gandhi Nagar just five kilometers from the Someshwara Temple in the heart of the city only serving to emphasize the apathy of the authorities concerned.
Local government school students must cross the railway to achieve it, leaving parents anxiously.
Even worse is the fact that the school does not have many basic facilities including sufficient lavorium, and water dispensers.
Sources said that Rajiv Gandhi Nagar was home to around 4,000 people.
Residents appointed the need for primary care centers, and a community hall in their neighborhood.
Residents cannot but feel sorry for the fate of government school students.
“Because this is slum, we don’t have a waste network.
Officials must take awareness of our many problems, and develop basic facilities in our environment,” said Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Resident Maruti H.
Flellow Resident Vijaylakshmi Bhavi said that lack of street lights in the area It is a very disturbing problem.
“Politicians visited the area when they wanted our voice, but did not even come here after the election.
I begged the selected representative to record our problems, and fix it,” he said from the HDMC Board at the General Agency meeting.
He added that he would also discuss the need to develop basic facilities in the region with MLA and MP.
“I will ensure that infrastructure in schools is enhanced, and facilities developed to provide drinking water to students.
I will also discuss the problem of building overbridge on the railroad near the school,” said Laxmi.
