You will be given accidental insurance protection until Rs 50 Lakh while visiting facilities in Jambughoda, Shivrajpur and RatanMahal by the Association of locals who manage five eco forestry department campsites.
“This insurance is not provided by the government, but by ‘Mandlis’ locals who manage eco campgrounds,” Raulji forest officers told toi.
In the event of an unwanted incident, tourists no longer need to spend money from their own pocket, he explained, adding that the Wildlife Vadodara division would be the first in the state to have insurance coverage for tourists.
Five Campsit Eco – Dhanpari in Jambughoda, Targol and Bhat in Shivrajpur and Naldha and Udal Mahuda in Ratanmahal – have witnessed a surge in tourists in recent years.
“Last year because of a pandemic, the number of tourists was low, if not, we get a short 25,000 tourists a year in the five Eco campsites,” Raulji said.
The association provides insurance protection from their own pockets and for a year, they will consider two cases to provide insurance money.
“Everyone who will take a pass entry at the gate or complete an online booking to stay at ECO Campsites will be borne by this.
This insurance will be a protection if natural disasters or animal attacks or insects or snake bite,” said Pradeepsinh Rana, the President of the Association managed Eco Campsite Dhanpari in Jambughoda.
