BELAGIVAVI: Deputy Commissioner has ordered the closing of the school for a week from January 11-18.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held on Monday night after 90 school children were positively tested for Covid-19.
About 78 girls were tested positively in a sainik school.
Deputy Commissioner M G Hiremath told TOI that the Ministry of Education would publish separate guidelines for online classes but for now the school must close the class.
He said after a health professional from the Covid team marked concerns over the increasing cases among children, the government made this decision.
