Melbourne: Usman Khawaja will be open to Australia in the fifth ash test in Hobart against England as a substitute for Marcus Harris who fell, said Captain Pat Cummins on Thursday.
Khawaja, who replaced Travis’s head in the middle order in the fourth test, scored a century back to Cricket Sydney’s land in an amazing return after more than two years in terms of the test.
The head reclaimed the number five position after contracting Covid-19 and was forced into isolation after the victory of the Australian series seal in the third test in the land of Cricket Melbourne.
Harris scored a test-high 76 in the MCG score of a low score but had made 179 simple at 29.83 for the series.
“I think he knows it will come,” Cummins told reporters.
“The message for Harry is we think he is going very well.” I think Marcus is really good, I think he has grown every match.
He is of course part of the future.
“Australia hasn’t decided on their bowling attacks for Hobart, with Paceman Scott Boland under injury.
Jhye Richardson, who takes Inning Five goal tested in the second test in Adelaide, can return to the side if the Boand is ruled out.
