Haveri: In an effort to save the old Century trees along the Byadagi-Motebennur road, the Biodiversity Management Committee, Byadagi said 1.4 km stretched the conservation habitat from the Heritage Site of Tamarind Biodiversity Gift & Neem.

The Forestry Department claims it is the first step of its kind in North Karnataka.
Hasire Uiru Social Social Society filed a petition to the president of the Karnataka biodiversity council which was declared by these trees.
The committee considers that these trees provide residences for wildlife, carbon absorption, oxygen release, shade, soil conservation, and the creation of the micro climate.
