Mangaluru: The British era house which is a designated port officer bungalow, known as the Marine Bungalow located near the State Bank, will further become a new office minister of fisheries and land transportation.
Bungalows reflect the architecture of Mangaluru – traditional houses with a vast portico, top with mangaluru tiles.
An engineer from the Port and Fisheries Department said that the renovation of this house was carried out on the estimated RS 30 Lakh after the project received approval from the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister.
It was studied bungalow over 100 years old and until now was the designated Port Officer residence.
Renovation works that have been taken, build false ceilings, paintings, park development and parking areas and furniture purchases, he said.
After inaugurating his new office on Monday, Angara told reporters next, he would be available at this office every Monday.
Fishermen from Talapady to Karwar can reach him in this office.
He will also visit Udupi and Karwar to improve the complaints of fishermen.
A total of 28 new proposals related to the Fisheries Department and 98 new proposals connected to the development of the port had been submitted to the central government.
These projects will assist in the development of coastal areas.
The central and state governments are committed to development and will respond to the needs and fears of the people.
However, public support is also important, the Minister said.
“This office has been formed to provide identity to the Department of Fisheries, Ports and land water.
It is the British era bungalow which is in dilapidated condition and has been given a facelift, after taking it to the notification of the ministerial head,” Angara said.
