Colombo: Top-Order Batsmen of Kusal Disal and Danushka Gunathilaka returned from their suspension to make troops of 20 Sri Lanka members for their limited tour in Australia, the country’s cricket council said on Wednesday.
Duo, along with Niroshan Dickwella, was suspended last year for violating the anti-coronavirus bio-bio-bio-bio-bio protocol during the UK tour in July.
Their suspension was appointed earlier this month and mendis and Gunathilaka included in Shanaka Dasun forces who will play five matches twenty20 in Australia in three places in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
Sri Lanka without the head coach since two years Mickey Arthur ended last month, and the island newspaper said English Paul Farbrace would replace him ahead of the Indian Team tour in February-March.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has been named Rumesh Ratnayake as a temporary coach for a tour of Australia but the previous Bowler test has been tested positive for Covid-19.
“Ratnayake will not travel to Australia with the team but will join before the T20i 1 match, because he is currently in self isolation,” SLC said in a statement.
Off-spinner dilruwan Perera has retired from international cricket but will be available to play domestic games, the statement was added.
Australia has rested the opening of David Warner and All-Rounder Mitch Marsh from 16 of their members for the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka starting on February 11.
Sri Lanka Squad: Dasun Shanaka (Captain), Charith Asalanka, Avishka Nissanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, Disal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, Chamhika Karunaratne, Janith Liyanage, Kamil Mishara, Ramesh Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Birthu Kumara, Nuwan Thushara, Dushantha Chameera, Binura Fernando, Maheesh Theekshana, Praveen Jayawana, Praveny Vandersay
