BELOGIVAVI: About five unknown masked men allegedly performed rituals related to black magic, at the government school in the early hours of Wednesday, on the day of the Amasasca.
The students and staff who arrived in the morning were taken back to see lemon, turmeric, red turmeric powder, coconut, lime and material thrown into two doors of high school in Kohalli Village in Athani Taluk.
The Principal immediately told the public instruction department from the incident, and then cleared the chaos.
The school also registered a complaint at the Aigali police station, which has now launched a probe to arrest five criminals.
The school has more than 500 children.
R Rathod, the principal, said the action was arrested by surveillance cameras.
About five criminals wearing masks, usually used to protect against Covid-19, entering school at 2am.
They carry lemon and other items used for rituals in the bag, and are seen moving around the school by holding lemon.
They then burned camphor, applying turmeric powder and red turmeric to lemon, and doing a few rituals.
The ritual was captured by CCTV cameras, and the recording had been submitted to the police was carried out at a government school, and lemon was stored in front of the school door.
The masked man looks very young, and can be a student.
Sometimes these young men took the challenge to walk late at night for Amajasasa.
The police were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile the students were afraid to come to class after seeing lemons related to black magic.
The principal said they were now educating children in superstition.
