Colombo: Sri Lankan Ditan Disal has been tested positive for Covid-19 in Australia ahead of the T20 international series which began on Friday, the State Cricket Council said on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old mission was found positive during the routine (mouse) antigen test conducted on Monday.
“CUSTANCE, which with the Sri Lankan national team in Australia has been tested positive for Covid-19,” said Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in a statement.
“Rat results are confirmed after the PCR test, which is done on the same day.” The current mission is placed in isolation as a protocol per covid-19.
The five matches of the T20 match between Sri Lanka and Australia will be played from 11 to 20 February with the first game scheduled at SCG.
After the Australian white ball tour, the island residents will be in India for two matches and three matches of the T20 series, starting February 25, with five-day matches.
Previously on January 31, Pacer Nuwan Thushara was not closed, part of 20 members of Sri Lanka Squad for Australia’s tour, has been positively tested for the virus ahead of the team’s departure.
Dilshan Fonseka, team coach, has also tested the positive virus.
SLC said that both of them will join the squad on February 10, after completing their quarantine.
