KARACHI: Former captain Younis Khan on Tuesday resigned since Pakistan’s batting trainer in a surprise conclusion that the cricket board was concurred upon”reluctantly but whined” although no grounds were given because of it.
The Pakistan team is scheduled to begin a tour of the UK in June 25 to July 20 for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
The group will go to the West Indies in July 21 to August 24 to include five T20Is and 2 Tests.
“Pakistan men’s domestic cricket team could go to the United Kingdom with no batting coach, although the choice to appoint Younis Khan’s substitute to the West Indies tour is going to be produced in due course,” a Pakistan Cricket Board announcement said two weeks before the group’s departure.
The statement was accompanied by speculation which Younis himself had made a decision to give up the position because he wasn’t satisfied with his character and desired greater say in choice issues.
