Prayaragaj: Uttar Pradesh Police recently ended the joyride of two chain oponstrations in Varanasi who had mastered the art of changing their modus operandi.
The snatchers chain used to travel a minimum of 120-125 km from Prayagraj to Varanasi on their bicycles to execute a chain robbery, and return to their homes after committing crimes.
Lanka police in Varanasi arrested two chains of chain Santosh and Pawan Kumar, residents of Nagar and Rajapur transportation (both DOAGRAJ areas) each at the end of June.
They are accustomed to traveling distance to execute chain snatching in Kashi’s luxury area.
Duo shifted their operational area from Prasagraj to Varanasi to avoid the police of Sangam City.
Want in connection with at least 40 criminal cases, the Chain Santosh Santosh treated not only executing nine replacement chains in the pockets of the city of Varanasi, but also searched by the Varanasi police in connection with cases listed under 307 IPCs.
After his arrest, the Varanasi police distributed details with Prayagraj colleagues, looking for more information about him and his gang members.
Officials in Prayagraj, meanwhile, were stunned to find out the modus operandi duo who used to travel a few miles from Prayagraj to Varanasi to execute crime.
A senior police officer prefers anonymity to TI that two chain, Santosh and Pawan, which is desired by the Prayers and Varanasi of the police, has executed many incidents of winning the chain.
He added that both of them had traveled to Varanasi from the Prasagraj for the past six months and executed more than half a dozen incidents of winning the chain in Varanasi.
The duo gave the night without sleep to the district police, which is why special teams are formed to capture snatchers.
