Captain Aaron Finch will return to Australia to try to fit for the Twenty20 World Cup after a knee injury ending his involvement in the current tour in West Indies and the upcoming series in Bangladesh.
Finch missed the first two meetings with West Indies in an international series one day three matches and would likely undergo surgery after completing 14 days of quarantine on his arrival in Australia.
“I was very disappointed to go home,” Finch said in a statement released by Cricket Australia.
“This is considered the best action than traveling to Bangladesh, unable to play and lose the recovery time.” I will undergo surgery if needed and start the recovery process in front of the World Cup.
