Hubballi: Immediately the bullet toy train will run on the Mahatma Gandhi park.
Throw track by a construction company from Pune, starting for toy train projects that is highly anticipated under the City City Smart Hubballi-Dharwad project.
Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL) plans the project.
Because of locking and transportation problems, the work was delayed, but now it has gained momentum.
The company put tracks up to a distance of 950m.
The train is designed like a modern bullet carrier, with a single curved glass wind screen and the front rolling LED screen.
The train will have 2 machines and four bogies, and will be able to accommodate 16 people in every bogie.
It will be air-conditioned, has an audio and visual system, CCTV camera, automatic door, solar roof and other facilities.
CW Shakeel Ahemad, MD, HDSCL, said that work order for the project was given to CC engineers, Pune in January 2020, but due to locking and other problems, the project was delayed.
“Now the company has agreed to complete work within six to eight weeks, and accelerate the laying of tracks and other works,” he added.
The total cost of the project is Rs 4.2 Crore.
This project is given to the company on the basis of operation & five-year maintenance (O & M).
The toy train will have a station, maintenance warehouse, fire extinguisher, smoke detector and pilot, he said.
Gayatri Kathigar from Royal Orchids Nursery School said that the concept of a toy train was good.
“The authorities must accelerate the work and make it available for children.
It will be a great experience for children to travel by toy trains, and that is also with advanced features,” he added.
Acticist Ramesh S said the Mahatma Gandhi park was the only park in the city of Hubballi where a large number of people could go with their families to find a walk during business days.
The park remained closed for days because of renovation.
“The authorities must accelerate the development work in Mahatma Gandhi Park, and also make it available to the public at the beginning,” he said.
