Dhaka: SPINNER NASUM AHMED claims four Wickets as Bangladesh defend 131 to beat Australia for the first time in Twenty20 Internationals on Tuesday in Dhaka.
Nasum, spinner left arm, revealed the best numbers from 4-19 to help stop visitors for 108 because Bangladesh took 1-0 in the five matches.
Mustafizur Rahman and his left arm colleagues, Shoriful Islam quickly took two of each goal to play a major role in their team’s victory in Australia in five attempts.
This is the first bilateral series between the two parties when Australia won their four matches against Bangladesh at the T20 World Cup.
“We have team talks during the halfway stage and say that we are 10 short walks, so we have to support well and put more effort,” said Skipper Mahmuditlah Riyad after victory.
“That’s what you need while maintaining a total total and has a attacking mindset.
They are a very good side and we need to check the boxes that we fail today in the upcoming match.” Mitchell Marsh made Gradian 45 but batting batting faltered from the beginning with Alex Carey Bowled First Ball to Mahedi Hasan spinner.
Marsh tried to chase with some partnerships including the fourth goal holder who ran 38-run with captain Matthew Wade, which made 13.
Mitchell Starc was the only other Australian Batsmen who managed a double number before he was detained for the last 14 years of the ball.
Previously Pace Bowler Josh Hazlewood returned the number 3-24 in Bangladesh’s 131-7 after Australia chose to a bowl first.
Starc took two numbers.
Shakib Al Hasan, who survived two chances fell on 18 and 23, scored with 36 of 33 balls before being held by Hazlewood on 17.
Openers Mohammad Naim (30), Mahmuditlah (20) and AFIF Hossain (23 did not come out) too Contribute to bats.
“I think Bowlers do great work to limit them up to 130,” Wade said.
“But after losing 3 for 10, Me and Marsh tried to revive the baby, but unfortunately we couldn’t do that.
We have to find a way to score on a tone like that.” The second T20 is on Wednesday in the same place.
