New Delhi: Former Cricketer Class One Abhay Sharma, who has worked widely with India A, India U-19 and a national women’s team, on Friday applied for the first team of the national team team.
Sharma has emerged as one of the strong competitors for the role of the field coach with Retaining R Sridhar departs at the end of the T20 World Cup along with most of the supporting staff, including the head coach Ravi Shastri.
The application “Abhay’s (Sharma) has come today,” BCCI source told PTI.

He also traveled with the Indian team on a US and West Indies tour in the same year.
Recently, he was praised for his work by the Cricketers of Indian women, including Skipper T20 Harmanpreet Kaur during a British tour before he was replaced for the next Australian tour.
ODI and Test Skipper Mithali Raj also admitted Sharma’s good work after Harleen Deol took a female driver.
Sharma has traveled to three World Cup U-19, last in South Africa in 2020.
He has also become part of around 10 Indian tours.
