Chennai: In the main security violations, a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) – Most of Thanjavur – protest in front of the residence of the Minister Nadu Tamil in Teynampet on Monday.
Agitators led by the National Secretary of ABVP Nidhi Tripathy demanded justice for Lavanya students who died of suicide.
Lavanya, a class XII student at a holy senior high school at Michaelpatti near Thirukkattubli, died on January 19 while undergoing treatment at Medical College Hospital Thanjavur after he consumed insecticides on January 9 because of the hostel guards.
BJP and Hindu clothes accused that Lavanya had taken extreme steps after being forced to enter Christianity at around 12:30 a.m., the protesters gathered in the Junction Cenotaph Road-Chittaranjan Salai.
They took a fight with police personnel assigned to security there.
They pushed the barricade and ran towards CM’s residence.
However, the agitators were stopped near the Head Office of the Consulate General of Japan by police personnel deployed at home cm.
The police limit the agitator including four women and three teenagers only 100 meters from CM residence.
The police team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Ti Police Nagar Prasad Prasad ABVP National Nidhi Tripathy, ABVP State official Muthu Ramalingam and Krishnan Day and 32 others and detained them to the public building.
They were made to undergo a Covid test and were taken to the Royapettah Government Hospital (GRH) for medical examinations.
The police produced it before the Metropolitan XVIII Magistrate Court around 21:50 a night on Monday night.
However, the judge left the court claiming that the police had brought the agitators to be late to the court.
