Activists cried because the government appointed non-IAS officers as KBJNL MD

Vijayapura: When the Chairman of the Minister of Balasavaraj Bommai announced a shift in the KBJNL office from Bengaluru to Almatti in September, the people in North Karnataka welcomed moving.
Now, they are disappointed because the government has appointed a head engineer as a KBJNL implementing director, unlike in the past, when the IAS officer was made to lead the office.
In accordance with the order of the latest appointment, it was released a month ago, the designated even was not a cash officer.
Even though the appointment was “temporary basis”, the status quo was maintained even after a month.
Activists understand that the government’s move can cause a big setback when the Supreme Court heard this case issuing notification of the verdict of the Judge of the Judge Brijeshkumar.
Arvind Muchakhandi, Secretary, Bagalkot Abhivruddhi Horata Samiti, said engineers, technically good, can be experts in the field, “but they need administrative skills”.
“When MD is a low rank officer, a high-level bureaucrat in the government treats them like their subordinates.
The government has appointed a lower ranking officer as MD KBJNL before too.
But it replaced it with IAS officers after public protests.
So we must continue to struggle to get the officer What is right to encourage the project is very much needed.
Irony is that if the government appoints an IAS officer, they barely visit Almatti and take the transfer within 6-7 months to another department.
When the KBJNL office is being transferred to Almatti, we doubt IAS or officer Cash comes and stay here, “he said.
Muchakhandi remembered that the shift of the KBJNL office to Almatti was announced twice in the past.
Other activists in the Bagalkot district accused that IAS and cash officers, locked up in Bengaluru or other cities, did not want to be placed in Almatti.
“Maybe the selected representative, lowered the pressure of the bureaucrat, did not post it here.
But a person must note that this step opposes the principle of decentralization.
Appoints engineers because MD can cause setbacks for the country facing legal battles in the APEX court,” he said.
The Supreme Court, who heard the case to issue a notification of the Judge’s Commission’s verdict Brijeshkumar, has scheduled the next hearing on December 13.
“The IAS officer is needed at this time to facilitate advocates representing the state in the APEX court,” the other said GC Muttaladinni activist.
Minister of Irrigation Govind Karjol is not available for comments.
