Haveri: Three experts, who conducted an audit of deaths from Covid-19 in Haveri, have mentioned that failure in the government section to overcome the situation resulted in a sharp increase in the number of deaths during the second wave in the district.
The Haveri district has recorded 2.9% of mortality rates, cumulative Covid mortality rates.
The Expert Committee was formed by the Ministry of KV Trilok Chandra, Commissioner, Health and Knairs of the family, which consisted of Dr.
Basavaraj Kallapur and Dr.
Ishwar Hasbi from KimS, Hubballi, and Dr.
Sampes Singh Rangawale, senior specialist.
The Committee reported that the administration had violated the protocol while caring for Covid-19 patients during the second wave and also failed to use a ventilator to save lives.
The report states that identification, early detection, and the search for primary and secondary contacts is very bad in Haveri Regency.
Triage teams and shifts have not worked effectively and they do not shift patients to CCC or DCH on time.
This causes the death of many patients in house isolation.
Lack of PL Technicians, ICU and Lab, Nurse staff, and service engineers are several causes that cause high mortality.
Reacting to the report, Congress MLC Srinivas Mane said, “Effective work of the District Administration to curb a pandemic only in paper.
The government must know why the second wave of Covid-19 is so fatal.” The government will act: members “we have completed our responsibility by sending A detailed report.
We have mentioned the cause of the high mortality rate.
The government will decide to begin actions against the authorities who violate the protocol, “said Dr.
Sampes Sing Rangawale, senior specialist and member of the Expert Committee.
