Islamabad: Pakistani Bowling coach Waqar Youngis felt it would be difficult for Paceman Mohammad Amir to return to Comective Cricket without being impressive in the country.
Amir retirement from the international game last December, said he was mentally tortured by his teammate and coach.
Bowler’s fast left arm playing in the Pakistani Super League recently with minimal success.
He reportedly met with the chief executive of the Pakistani Cricket Agency Wasim Khan earlier this year, which led to speculation of returns before the Twenty20 World Cup in October.
“No doubt he is a good Cricketer, but if he doesn’t want to go back and impress the selection by playing cricket, it will be difficult,” Younis told reporters through video conferencing from England on Monday.
“This is Pakistani cricket, it’s not yours or my cricket (team), you have to do the right thing to play for your country.
This is not a franchise cricket and someone must remember it.” Younis said he was not aware of the meeting between Khan and Amir.
“I honestly don’t know about this (meeting),” he said.
“He (Khan) is the head of the cricket and he has the right to meet whoever he wants to see; he goes there in his personal capacity and we don’t know about it.” Amir plays for Karachi Kings at PSL, but can only take five goals in 11 matches an average of 69.80.
Karachi was eliminated after losing their two playoffs.
Amir took 259 numbers across 36 tests, 61 internationally one day and 50 T20s.
He was 18 years old when he was banned in 2010 for five years and was jailed for three months to improve spot in the test series in England.
He was allowed to return to Cricket a few months early and withdrawn by Pakistan in 2016.
In 2019 he no longer wanted to play tests, to focus on white ball cricket and extend his international career.
