Dharwad: protesting the delay in ‘no weight’ in holding elections with the Mayor’s post and deputy mayor to the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) board, Congress workers on Thursday gathered in front of the Deputy Office of the Commissioners, demanding that the state government announce the date for polls .
The protesters strive to remind the government that the general election for the HDMC Board has been held in September, even though the newly elected corporators have not been appointed to the office.
“After the Congress suppressed the announcement of the date of the poll, the Urban Development Department had announced the reservation matrix to post mayor and deputy mayor.
But the date for the election was not yet announced,” said the protesters.
