Prasagraj: When the whole nation was all praise for the Indian men’s hockey team who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics after the 41-year-old gap, Sangam City residents had more personal reasons to celebrate.
Assistant coach of the Indian team, Piyush Dubey, has a long and strong relationship with the city.
Piyush did his master in the economic field of Allahabad University.
After completing the NIS Diploma from Patiala, he trained Kendriya Vidyalaya students, Afs Marauri, in addition to working as a guest lecturer at the AU Physical Education Department.
Piyush spoke to Ti by telephone from Tokyo, and shared a number of moments that formed their abilities, including what he would always appreciate.
“I was still quite young when I started working at KV Marauri as a guest coach to train the school hockey team in 2004.
Hearing that a new coach had arrived, around 130 students, both boys and girls, gathered in the field, and me Must face a challenge to choose the final team.
Although my first salary is only around Rs 2,800, the experience of teaching the basics and exposure of work is independently more valuable than monetary profits, “Piyush said.
He then trained the AU Hockey team, and then, joined KV Manai again when Principal Principal Shalini Dikshit chose him to train the team.
The school team won citizens in 2004 and 2011.
During this period, Piyush completed the BPP and MPPLE title from the University of Barkatullah, Bhopal.in 2014, Piyush was chosen in the Indian Sports Authority (SAI) and his first post was in Sonīpat (Haryana).
Piyush was also among the selected trainers sent by the Indian government to Birmingham University in England in 2016.
There, he studied sports science and coaching.
More than 75 trainees so far show their courage at the international or national level.
The Indian team who won the Junior World Cup in 2016 included three peskarnya-Sumit, Manpreet and Vikas Dahiya.
Sumit is also part of the Indian Hockey team who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics this year.
PIYUSH is associated with the Indian team since 2019.Piyush’s Family comes from Mathura.
His father Kunwar Garvendra Singh Dubey was a wrestler.
He got the title ‘Singh’ just because of his wrestling.
He is also known as ‘Brij Kesari’ for years.
“My brother, Shravan also like wrestling, and I used to go to Akhara in Jhunsi with him.
On the way, there was a small land where the famous coach Prem Shukla was used to teach hockey to children.
One day, he handed a stick to I and asked to try playing games.

“After a PM call, the team was encouraged and quite confident to pocket the Olympic medal after 41 years,” he said.
KV Manuari’s Principal, Shalini Dikshit, while giving Piyush and the entire Hockey team said, “Determination and PIYUSH commitment is used to show while training our school students still inspire teachers and players.
The victory of the Indian team will pimply fire in our school players and Other KVS then proceeded to play for the country.
