The young British batter was given a “wake-up call” by Australia in the ash series and had to use it to start their careers, said assistant coach Graham Thorpe.
England found themselves down 0-3 in the five-match series, with no batters of those who scored a century in the middle of the struggle against Australian extraordinary speed attacks.
But Thorpe, who scored more than 6,000 runs in 100 tests for England, said that the players have started working on solutions to their problems.
“With some players it is a wake-up call and can really start their career because they have started practicing in a very different way.
They don’t waste time on, hitting half volleyball,” Thorpe told British media.
“They came against several excellent bowling attacks, who had been able to have a little of their watches and saw where some of their Achilles heels were, and they had to face that reality.” Thorpe said the batter must adapt to the demands of the test cricket, which he describes as “10 times harder” than the domestic game.
“The Cricket Regency is what it is, you must raise players from there, then educate them in international cricket.
When I see batting in general, I try to teach the basics of the game,” Thorpe added.
“We strive to continue to educate some younger people to …
rhythm test hit, playing the situation in the game, doing it for a long time.
Some of them have not been able to do it.
Some people haven’t done so.
Some travel people are in a different place .
“Thorpe will be responsible for England during the fourth test in Sydney from January 5-9 while Chief Coach Chris Silverwood isolates in Melbourne after family members are tested positive for Covid-19.
