Dhaka: Bangladesh on Monday called Batsman Batsman Mahmudit Hasan and Pace Bowler Rahman in their squad for the opening test of the two-match series against Pakistan, starting November 26 in Chittagong.
World Cup winners under 19 Mahmudit, 21, given a place in the test squad behind the initial promising to a first-class career covering hundreds of back in the last two rounds of the National Cricket League, said Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin.
Minhajul said Fast Bowler 22 years, who has represented a high-performance BCB and the team that appeared, also got a call for a strong show in first grade cricket, where he had taken 33 goals in 10 matches.
“It’s still in the morning for him but Mahmudit shows a good temperament for a longer version.
He is also a batsman in the form,” Minhajul said in a statement BCB.
“With the problem of injury to Taskin (Ahmed) and ShoriFul (Islam), we need to keep the bowling steps of our speed and king (ray) get a nod,” he added.
Shakib Al Hasan’s all-rounder is also included in the squad but will fulfill his fitness after a hamstring injury before being considered for the first test, Minhajul said.
The second test will begin in Dhaka on December 4.
“We obviously have to wait to see if Shakib makes it for the first test but these players have become the most consistent players for us in tests and their presence can make a difference.” Pakistan won three T20 Series 3-0 matches before.
