Dhaka: Coach Bangladesh Russell Domingo has excluded Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim from the national side of Twenty20, said Veterans no longer wanted to play.
Domingo told reporters on Sunday night that Wicketkeeper no longer had a “desire” for T20s.
The 34-year-old has played at 89 International Twenty20, and only M.S.
India Dhoni has played more T20 matches as Wicketkeeper-Batsman.
But Mushfiqur has been absent in the T20 series recently.
Nurul Hasan Sohan took over for the two newest series against Zimbabwe and Australia because Mushfiqur had an emergency and family quarantine problem.
Mushfiqur also failed to get the game in the first three series at this time against New Zealand.
Domingo said before the series that Nurul will play the first two matches, Mushfiqur, the third and fourth, and the best of both will get the fifth match.
Domingo’s pre-series comment caused an uproar to social media, with former captain Bangladesh Mashrafe Morrafa leading criticism.
“After serving Bangladesh for 16 years, Mushfiq did not need to be told that he had to appear,” Moraza wrote at Facebook.
He said that Domingo made public comments like it showed “disrespect” for Mushfiqur.
The new question was asked after Mushfiqur was also left from the third clash with New Zealand.
Domingo said the plan for the third match was changed after Mushfiqur indicated that he no longer wanted to be on the side of the T20.
“There have been changes after talking to Mushfiq.
He will keep up after the second match.” Mushfiq told me that he might not want to save at T20 Cricket again, “Domingo told reporters.” We have to move on.
I don’t think of Mushfiq’s desire to stay great in this format again.
So we have to focus on Sohan and maybe let it do the task.
“Bangladesh led against New Zealand 2-1 entered the last two matches from the series on Wednesday and Friday in Dhaka.
