New Delhi: BCCI has decided to recommend Cricket Women’s Great Mithali Raj and Premier Spinner R Ashwin for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the highest sports honor in the country.
For Arjuna award, the Board will send the names of Senior Batsman Shikhar Dhawan, which was ignored last year, K L Rahul and Pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
“There is no cricketer of the woman nominated for Arjuna.
The name Mithali has been recommended for Khel Ratna,” said BCCI official to PTI on Wednesday.
It still has to be seen if Mithali was chosen by the processed sports service panel in the Olympics.
He finished 22 years in international cricket last week.
The 38-year-old child is also a leading troublemaker in Odis with more than 7000 Run.
Ashwin, who has become Arjuna Awardee such as Mithali, has also become a consistent player for India in a cricket test.
He has taken 413 goals in 79 tests other than 150 and 42 scalp in Odis and T20s even though he did not play for India in a shorter format.
Dhawan, who will be the captain of India in the limited overs series that will come in Sri Lanka, is a pioneer for Arjuna.
The 35-year-old Southpaw has scored 5977 running at 142 Odis besides 2315 and 1673 tests and T20 runs each.
