Hubballi / Dharwad: Karnataka Sangrama Seva and Kannada members Rakshana Vedike protested in the mini vidhan soudha place against the central government for imposing Hindi throughout the country by celebrating Hindi Day by wearing a black badge on Tuesday.
President Karnataka Sangrama Seva Sanjeev Dumanal said the center forced Hindi on behalf of national language policies on countries that did not speak non-Hindi.
“Hindi is used in all competitive exams in this country.
Each country has its own mother and cultural language.
But the central government strives to insult and destroy regional languages, including Kannada,” he said.
The pursuit of steps to impose Hindi as an anti-Kannada policy, Dumanal said all Kannada organizations will intensify agitation against the center.
The protesters said the trade union government had to stop celebrating this dark day as Hindi diwas and gave respect to the mother tongue of each country, including Kannada.
They then filed a memorandum aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Tahsildar.
At Dharwad, KRV (Swabhimaan and Shivarame Gowda Faction) and Jaya Karnataka issued a separate demonstration and held a demonstration in front of the SBI main branch and also the office of the deputy commissioner.
KRV leader Papu Dhare said that nationalized banks had made Hindi as administrative language.
This is an insult to Kannada in Karnataka.
The state government has ordered the making of Kannada administration and banks must also follow it, he said.
Challan, acceptance, and other forms must be printed on Kannada and bankers must be asked to be required to speak in Kannada, he added.
