Hubballi: March Peaceful protests will be held at St Peter Church campus on Monday in Hubballi, condemning increased cruelty towards the Christian community in the state, said Hubballi-Dharwad President of the Sunil Mahade Christian community.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said that we will also oppose government steps to conduct church surveys in the state.
Religious practices are our constitutional rights.
But the government has now ordered a survey of official and unofficial churches, this step hurts the feelings of the Christian community, he said.
Christians have been in India for thousands of years.
The constitution has given us the right to practice our religion like everyone else.
Some MLA made accusations that we forcibly turned people to become Christians but all of these accusations were unfounded and we did not impose or commit repentance, he said.
During the recent incident at Navanagar Somaling Avaradi, who had recently been suspected of repenting to crystals, was attacked while praying.
“We condemn this incident and also seek actions against those who are behind this incident,” Mahade said.
Other Casean Files files were filed in connection with the row of religious conversion last week, at the APMC Navanagar station on Saturday.
A woman named Ganga has filed a complaint that alleged that around 60-70 people from various organizations rushed to the prayer hall last week and harmed them.
This is the third registered case with respect to this case.
