Sydney: The former captain of Michael Clarke felt Justin Langer would back down as head coach if Australia added ash’s victory for the T20 World Cup title recently.
Langer, who was appointed as the main Australian coach after the famous 2018 Ball-Tubmarbal Scandal, helped deliver the title of the Mercure World Cup T20 in the country on Sunday.
“He wants Australia to be the best team in the world.
He wants us to play the cricket brand he is proud of, and we just won the World Cup,” Clarke said as quoted by Sydney Morning Herald.
“If we can win ash too, he reaches everything he comes here for and knows Lang (langer) he won’t train for the wrong reason,” he added.
The former opening test of the test has been under the scanner since Australia’s disappointing losses for India in the test earlier this year but he was supported by Chief Executive Cricket Australia (CA) Nick Hockley.
There are also reports of cracks in the Australian dressing room between the players and langer.
“I hope – not only for the players, but for him – that we can continue this form, win the ash series and then give him the choice to do whatever he wants to do,” Clarke said.
“If he thinks his job is finished, then I think he will leave, and I want to see him go with his own requirements,” he added.
The 50-year-old man, who has guided Australia to Abu victory in 2019 in England, was contracted until mid 2022.
Clarke also fell on praise at the T20 World Cup player from the tournament David Warner, said that the opening would be “no doubt” sure of bringing Its sensational form to ash.
“He is brilliant throughout the tournament and has the courage to still play his natural game.
Yes, I have no doubt that he will enter this test series now full of confidence,” he said.
“It’s amazing what is done for the dough.
It’s very important and the only way to restore your confidence is to score.” Australia will take the England British arch sauce, Start Brisbane on December 8.
