Colombo: Coach Sri Lanka Mickey Arthur on Wednesday chips advice that he scored captain Dasun Shanaka in front of the camera after they lost the one day to India.
India passed 275-9 Sri Lanka with five spare balls in Colombo on Tuesday to record the victory that gave them a 2-0 advantage in the three-match series.
South African coach Sri Lanka was seen sharing words heated with Shanaka and pointed to the captain on the field after their match lost three numbers.
He seemed to show that Shanaka had to go with him from the field but the captain was wrong when Arthur left, in video that was widely distributed on social media.
“It’s actually a very good debate, no need to make naughty from him,” Arthur said on Twitter responded to the commentator who fits Russel Arnold’s comments that the exchange must be held in the dressing room.
Sri Lanka entered the series with injury and without a positive batting coach grant tested for Covid-19 upon returning with a team from the England tour where they lost the ODI and Twenty20 series.
Charith Asalanka’s top scorer, which made 65, said Sri Lanka thought they had won the game, but the low order of India against returning.
From 193-7, Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar wore an unbeaten holder from 84 to the eighth goal to secure India’s victory.
“We think we installed a good total (from 275), but we lost the plot along the way,” said Asalanka.
The young Sri Lankan team was emotional after losing the series, he said.
The last ODI on Friday and the T20 series three matches began on Sunday.
