Ranchi: In the midst of intermittent rain and bad weather, the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) had some good news for Valentine’s Day revelers on Thursday.
In long-distance estimates, IMD has predicted dry weather with cold winds but warm sunlight on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
Although fresh western disruption is likely to be activated forward on February 13, the weak effect will reach Jharkhand three days later on February 16, the department said.
This year, winter is mostly wet with several rainfall rounds under the influence of Western disorders.
Intermittent disorders cover the country with clouds and encourage higher mercury, thus preventing severe or prolonged cold waves in the state.
According to IMD, Jharkhand has received cumulative winter rainfall of 53.4 mm against normal 19.
4 mm from January 1 to February 10, shows 175% of excessive rainfall in the state.
Last week, 23 of the 24 districts received a large amount of rainfall.
During the week starting February 4, the state received 28.7 mm rainfall against normal 5.4mm, showing an excess of 432%.
Scientists and responsible for the Office of the IMD Ranchi, Abhishek Anand, said the impact of Western disturbances has now significantly reduced and the weather is set to become dry on Friday.
“The highest rainfall of 35mm was recorded at the Putki weather station from Dhanbad while many parts of the Jharkhand Center received mild rainfall during the last 24 hours,” he said.
Although cloudy conditions continued on Thursday which resulted in warmer night temperatures, everything would go down for the next 48 hours.
This department has been predicted under normal rainfall for a week from February 11 but there is a possibility of increasing rainfall activity during the second week, starting February 17.
During these two weeks, the maximum temperature will remain below normal in most countries while the minimum temperature is expected to remain below normal in the first half of week 1 and rise afterwards.
Then it will remain below normal or near normal in the second week.
