HubbalLi: Two counters of reservations of International Surat (IBMC) have been established in Hubballi and Dharwad, the first in the North Karnataka Post area.
Now people can send packages to Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, United States, Singapore, and European countries from Hubballi.
There are special counters to pack and guides in consignment reservations.
Mutrali, Post Office Supervisory Assistant, Dharwad, said seeing the number of reservations of international letters, Postmaster General N Vinodkumar, and Senior VSL Inspector Narasimha Rao plans to arrange special services for international packages and letters.
“In Hubballi and Dharwad, more than 50 international consignments are ordered, every month,” he added.
At an exclusive counter, there will be four staff who will take care of packing according to international standards, and also provide information to customers, he said.
Antil Desai, a businessman, said he hoped to use new services.
“My sister is in the US.
During the festival and our other opportunities used to send gifts, and courier prices were much higher,” he added.
