New Delhi: The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed the Covid-19 center testing institution in the UAE to ensure test reports of each player and support staff in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 reached their respective boards and franchises.
Speaking to Ani, the source in knowing the development said while the previous team was permitted to have their respective testing agents, BCCI had appointed VPS Healthcare to run all Covid-19 tests this time and all reports were sent not only to the team, but also to the Board.
“BCCI feels important to have a central testing agent because it will help in keeping tabs on all tests that occur, because also the test results will be available for the council.
There will be no postponement of information transmission in this process,” said the source.
With BCCI managing bio-bubbles this time, it keeps the trace of the body temperature of all the players and officials leading to the ground on the day of the match.
“BCCI not only asked the team to maintain an examination of everyone in bubbles, but also requested data to be submitted to the board on the day of the match.
Each franchise needs to send data to BCCI on the day before leaving for the land of the team,” said a franchisor to Ani.
The 14th season, which was postponed in May this year after Pandemic Covid-19, returned on the last Sunday in Dubai with a match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians defense.
So far, there is only one case of Covid-19 in the second half of the league, with SRH Pacer T Natarajan tests positively.
BCCI appears with a 46-page health advisor who describes all the pointer related to the IPL needs to be followed to ensure the smooth functioning of the league.
