Prayagraj: With almost two weeks left for the Raksha Bandhan Festival, the city market faces the acute crisis at Rakhis.
Dealers in Rakhi trade wholesalers in co-adjoining prayers connect uncertain market scenarios and third covid wave predictions as reasons behind the Rakhi crisis.
Mohd Kadir, Rakhi Distributor Wholesale of City and President of Zila Uudhyog District Vyapaar Pratinidhi Mandal, told Tii, “We face acute shortcomings Rakhis because producers have not sent consignments to uncertain markets.” He added, “Traders are in an exciting situation before the festival because Rakhis’s demand has increased this year but supply has shrunk.” Kadir claimed, “the manufacturer remembers the third covid wave and the ongoing Pandemic Coronavirus has not invested appropriately to make and sell Rakhis designers this year.” When the market witnesses a slowdown in selling all types of products, Rakhi producers have not invested this year this year suspect that their delivery will be discarded if the third wave of pandemics arrives in front of the festival.
This year, the limited stock of resham, Chandan and cotton along with old stock teddy bears and music rakhis for kids is available on the market.
“Over the past two years, trading has slipped because of Covid’s pandemic and we do not want to take risks in investing too much money in rakhis stockings and decorative items in front of the festival,” said a trader in Chowk, added it “we have brought goods – Limited items from Delhi and other countries for sale “.
Rakhis is made of resham (silk), chandan (sandals) and cotton ‘to Kasche Dhage’ (cotton yarn lines) available on the market.
However, there is a limited stock of Rakin designers at kiosks established in civil lines, Katra, Chowk, Bahadurganj, Sulemsarai and several other regions.
Kadir, meanwhile, said: “Over the past two years, we have faced a boring market because Corona and this year’s pandemic is only limited to available Rakhis”.
Ironically, this year a large number of self-help groups have advanced to make Rakhis in the Prayagraj district.
About 120 women are currently preparing Rakhis in the Baharean Block, Karchana and Bhagwatpur.
