Vadodara: A woman who is almost dead after giving a dead baby has received a new lease in the SSG hospital managed by the state.
Ramila Pateliya, a resident of Godhra, was critical when she was referred to a government hospital.
Pateliya was taken to the SSG hospital from a private hospital based in Waghodiya on January 17.
As Godhra Hospital where he initially claimed not to treat him, he was taken to a Waghodiya-based private hospital where he underwent a caesarean section.
But as soon as the surgical procedure, he began to develop fever and tested Covid-19 positive.
He was originally treated in the maternity ward, then shifted to the Ward insulation of a medical care home and Covid-19 ICU.
“He even underwent dialysis and stored under the Bi-Pap engine as he turned into critical.
He had undergone postoperative treatment when he turned critically.
But the multi-disciplinary approach of all our work and team helped save his life,” said Dr.
Ranjan Aiyer, medical supervisor at SSG Hospital.
After he tested the negative Covid-19, he shifted to the recovery ward and then to the general ward.
On Sunday, he was finally dismissed after almost 25 days at a public hospital.
His family members said his health had deteriorated by almost 99% before he was taken to the hospital.
“But thanks to the doctor and nurse staff, he can walk alone,” said his relatives.
