Delay in Construction Rob Hits Badami Tourism

Written by news2in

Bagalkot: Badami is a historical and important tourist destination in the state.
Every day, thousands of tourists from all over the world visit Aihole, Pattadkal and Badami.
There are big obstacles at the train gate if they arrive via a road from the Batalagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, or Maharashtra.
Because the local government and the Railroad Department have not built a train on the bridge (Rob), vehicles are forced to wait in a longer line every time the train gate is closed.
They may have to wait for up to half an hour or more, and they may have to queue for more than one kilometer.
In the past, there were even examples of VIPs trapped here.
Vehicles arrived from and moved towards the BELOGIAVI, Jamkhandi, Mudhol, Nippani, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Sangli, and Kolhapur had to pass the gate of the intersection of this level, which is located 22 km from Hubballi-Solapur National Highway, according to Muttu Rise, a senior journalist from the village Halkurki is adjacent.
“It should be planned as part of the measuring conversion project, which was completed in 2013.
During his second term as Minister’s Chairman, Badami MLA Siddaramaiiah wrote a letter to HD Kumaraswamy, but there was no progress seen in this matter,” he urged.
According to Prof.
Shivaraddi Vasan, President, Nersarga Balaga Parisara Vedia, Badami, the gate of 34 has become a big obstacle to Badami’s development.
“For years, we have written a letter to the train minister.
We are made to believe that funds have been approved and tender has been issued in March 2019, but there is no progress in work.
Despite the fact that Badami is close to the Pattadkal World Heritage Site, SWR Running non-stop express trains here.
Rob’s construction has been postponed due to lack of communication between the state government and the railway department, “he said.
When a train moves on track, buses, and all vehicles must wait for 15-20 minutes, said Vinayaka Ghatge, a student.
“We have to wait more than 30 minutes if there is a crossroads at Badami station.
After the train passes, it will take 10-20 minutes because 30-40 vehicles will stop on both sides,” he added.
This issue was raised in a meeting of Parliamentarians and SWRs recently held in Hubballi, according to Bagalkot MP PC Gaddigoudar.
“The Union Minister of Pralhad Joshi has ordered officials to accelerate the procedure.
The SWR has now prepared an estimate and handed it to the state government to build Rob with a base cost,” he said.
However, Aneesh Hegde, CPRO, SWR, said that Rob was approved as a substitute for the junction of the level.
The same estimation preparation is in the process, after that the proposal will be communicated to the state government to publish the project order to be executed based on the distribution of costs, he added.
