Dubai: Former South African captain Faf Du Plessis on Saturday named the icon and captain of The Bangla Tigers ahead of the fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.
“This is a new format that is interesting to be part of.
I look forward to joining some of the largest names in the world in this league and representing the Bangla Tigers team,” Du Plessis said in the release.
“It will be a thrilling time for the cricket game.
It’s a warming of the liver to see the league like T10 put in hard work and offers interesting formats for sports fans.
I can’t wait to go.” Du Plessis has played 69 tests, 143 ODIS and 50 T20IS for South Africa in a career that began in 2011.
He has also become the captain of South Africa in the three formats.
“Very friendly to have a world-class player like FAF in our squad.
We have all seen his exploitation for South Africa in various formats.
He is a Cricketer champion,” said the owner Muhammad Yasin Chowdhury Mohammad Yasin Chowdhury.
“It is a great honor to have it in our squad.
We all know what he has achieved both inside and in the field.
His actions speak for his brilliance.
I wholeheartedly welcome FAF to the family of Bangla Tigers.” The league, which is being performed under the Aegis of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) with official approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC), will be held at the Cricket Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi from November 19 to December 2.
