England pace bowler Jofra Archer has undergone surgery in his leg and his progress will be evaluated at a month, both the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Wednesday. The 26-year-old had been ruled out of England’s two-Test series against New Zealand beginning next month because of pain in his mind. “Archer will commence an intensive rehab period working together with the ECB and Sussex medical organizations,” the board said in a statement. “His improvement will be evaluated by his advisor in about four months at which time further advice will be given as to if he could go back to bowling.” Barbados-born Archer had surgery in March to eliminate a glass fragment out of a sidewalk on his right hand, the injury he sustained in January as an effort to wash his fish tank moved wrong.
