New Delhi: Former Supreme Court Judge and one of the main legal figures of India, Justice (Pension) Indu Malhotra will be the Ombudsman Cum Ethics Officer of Delhi and DDCA).
The DDCA general body, led by his President Rohan Jaitley, decided on the appointment of 65-year-old Malhotra.
“A number of decisions were taken at a general body meeting on the day and justice (Retd) the appointment of Indu Malhotra for a period of one year was made.
He will immediately assume the cost,” Director of DDCA Dinesh Sharma told PTI on Wednesday.
It was lowned that President DDCA Jaitley personally approached Malhotra to take the position of Ombudsman after being emptied by Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed.
In 2007, Malhotra was appointed as a senior advocate by the Supreme Court and he became only a second woman appointed by the APEX court after the gap of three decades.
He has appointed Amicus Curiae with the Supreme Court bench in several ways.
After serving as a legal counsel at the Supreme Court for 30 years, he unanimously recommended for the appointment of the Supreme Court Judge.
