Prayagraj: The false improvised explosive device (IED) caused panic among the local residents near the railway line under the bridge (rubbing) located in Rewa Jalan Naini on Saturday morning.
When getting news, the police strolled the area and divert traffic when members of the bomb disposal and anti-terrorist team reached the area.
However, the investigation revealed that fake Ied resembled a time bomb, which was made using a water bottle was placed on the site by some unknown miscreants, police said.
The effort now began to identify and arrest the culprit, they added.
SSP-Prayagraj Ajay Kumar confirmed the incident and said it seemed to be a naughty act by someone intentionally trying to create panic.
“Everything is normal.
We are now trying to identify the culprit with the help of the CCTV camera around it,” he added.
According to reports, Rambabu, fabric pickers see objects such as the circuit in a nearby bottle close to Leprosy crossing in Rewa Road in Naini on Saturday morning and notify the nearest tea seller.
Tea sellers in turn told the police.
In a moment, the police team reached a place followed by senior officials including SSP Ajay Kumar, SP Trans-Yamuna Saurabh Dixit and a bomb disposal squad.
Following the protocol, the police gave birth in the area and transferred all traffic for a while.
The bomb disposal squad conducted an investigation using a bomb detector.
Bomb Disposal Team members also continued the warning when the timer was detected.
However, when the bomb disposal team opened the package, they found it was fake Ied.
The police said the culprit had used a bottle of disposable water and even installed the timer connected by inserting the electric wire in it.
The bottle is inserted with a red ribbon that gives the overall appearance of the original Ied.
It should be mentioned that in 2016-17 there were also many fake Ied found in various regions in the district including a table.
However, the police failed to find the culprit.
