Thanjavur: The police team specially damaged the fake liquor manufacturing unit in Thanjavur on Sunday and confiscated a large number of liquor bottles with fake labels, holograms and machines.
Six people have been arrested in this relationship and the unit is sealed.
It was on a tip that some people were involved in the manufacturing of illegal liquor whose supervisors Ravali Priya formed a special team led by a special police wing sub-inspector of Rajesh to arrest the perpetrators.
Based on investigations, the team gets a wind from illegal units that function in thulukkampatti, on the outskirts of the city.
After surrounding the police team building broke through six people engaged in manufacturing liquor.
Even though they tried to escape, and the police arrested them.
The team won 700 bottles of liquor, 2,000 born bottles with fake labels, bottle caps, chemicals and enthusiasm like SP Ravali Priya also visited the place.
The gang has sold fake liquor bottles on behalf of Puducherry liquor in the local retail market.
Those who buy bottle of liquor usually sell it illegally in the retail market, the police said.
The team handed over the defendant and restored things to the Tamil University police who in turn arrested sixth.
The defendant was identified as J Melvin Sagayaraj, 41, S Palaniyappan, 38, G Babu, 42, S Arrazhagan, 30, K Arun Pandiyan, 32, and S Soolai aka Muthukukar, was praised from Thanjavur, Puducherry and Tiruvarur.
This unit is owned by Kumarsan who allowed six to use the building for RS 5,000 monthly rent four months ago.
Of the six, a murder case and several cases of smuggling of liquor waiting for Babu in Kara.
Likewise, three murder cases and more than 10 cases of idol theft were postponed against Muthukukar and Melvin Sagayaraj, police said.
