Former CJ of Gauhati High Court Goes away

Prayagraj: Former Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice VK Khanna, That had served as Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, passed away on Saturday Afternoon in his Prayagraj Home after suffering from cardiac arrest.

He was 86 and is survived by wife, 1 daughter and 2 sons.
He had served as Chairman of both Punjab and Haryana Human Rights Commission.
Among the sons, Anurag Khanna, is an old advocate of Allahabad High Court.
Born on February 15, 1935, Justice VK Khanna obtained his first schooling from Government High School, Bijnor.
Afterward he did his B.Sc.
In Allahabad University and graduated in Statistics from Meerut College, Meerut.
Justice Khanna registered as urge from the Allahabad High Court on April 22, 1960.
He practised law in district Bijnor in January 3, 1958 to February, 1959.
Practised law at the Allahabad High Court at Allahabad in April 22, 1960 onwards.
Then, on July 2, 1979, he had been appointed as additional indicator of Allahabad High Court and then he had been appointed as permanent indicator effect from December 30, 1982.
Justice Khanna held the post of Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court in October 13, 1993 on April 24, 1994 and afterwards he had been raised as Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, in which he stayed until 14 October 1997.
