MUMBAI: The BCCI received compliments from many quarters as it established a one-time retirement advantage from previous India and outstanding cricketers, by a corpus it generated from gains by the IPL.
But till today, former foreign umpires, who also were a critical part of the sport, have now been denied this advantage.
Ex-international umpires desire the BCCI to become benevolent for their own cause.
“This one-time advantage is provided in appreciation of the services to this match.
When it is not given following retirement, then if?” Wondered Piloo Reporter, who umpired from 14 Tests and 22 ODIs from 1984 to 1994, while speaking to TOI.
“It would be very greatly valued by us also get that which former players are becoming.

The pension amount is enough to satisfy our daily costs, but what will make us happy is really that the expansion of this one-time advantage scheme to people, or a rise in the retirement amount,” explained the 93-year-old.
