Gurugram: For optimal utilization and water resource conservation, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has begun working on Chalking Out A Water Security Plans.
The main engineers from the Infrastructure II Authority division were assigned to “examine and prepare” strategies, in consultation with “Academic Institutions”, officials said.
First of all debated at the Council of Advisory Board (RAC) occupants earlier this month, this strategy will be aimed at understanding and exploring ways for the use of effective and optimal yamuna water supply to meet the city’s needs, the use of water treated from plant waste treatment ( STP), and basic water setting and water cost techniques.
As per the estimated GMDA, Gurugram water demand reaches 400 million liters per day (MLD) in 2019.
“The process of formulation of plans will involve a lot of research and projections in connection with the terms of this city also predicted requirements in the future, and therefore will take time.

Effective water utilization and conservation has emerged as the main concern for Gurugram in the midst of thinning ground water.
In August, TOI has reported that the city’s pre-monsoon ground water level reached 36.99 meters, slightly above 36.21 meters recorded last year.
In 2019, ground water level was recorded at 35.85 meters, while 33.23 meters in 2018.
Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg, however, said that the thinning ground water was not the only reason why the formulation of the water security plan was recommended.
“Our city population grows rapidly and we must start management (or water) now, if not, in the coming years, we can face the crisis.
In cities like Gurgram, where we already have a population of almost 30 lakh, it makes sense that We have a water management plan or our water security.
