Haveri: The Karnataka government has ordered not to accredit the association of government employees listed under the caste, religion or family name.
The Government Employee Association has been established in several departments based on caste and religion and this association seeks to obtain government accreditation.
The Department of Personnel and Reform Administration has ordered canceling such accreditation and limiting these associations based on caste and religion Accreditation should not be given to more than one association in a cadre or group of government employees and everything.
Employees qualify for membership in the association.
“The most important thing, the association of government employees should not be formed on the basis of caste, religion, dynasties, and others,” said a government notice.
Violating the government’s orders, many government employee associations are caste and religion based.
This association works for government employee welfare which is included in the appropriate caste or religion, the sources say.
“The Association of Karnataka State Government Employees is accredited by the state government and it works for the welfare of all government employees, regardless of caste.
So, our organization is very strong and the government accepts our demands on the basis of priority,” AB Patil, president of the Association of The Haveri District Unit, said.
When contacting CS Shadakshari, President of the State Association of the Karnataka State Government, clarified that government employees were civil servants and should not be bound to certain caste or religion.
In addition, employees must unite under an association that is released from caste and religion will help fight for the rights and demands of employees.
“The government will not meet the demands submitted by non-accredited associations,” he said.
