Karachi: Central Central Batsman Pakistan Haris Sohail could not play in the international first day against England on Thursday and also hesitated for the two remaining matches from the three-match series after suffering a foot injury.
Haris, who complained about injury at the right foot, missed several training sessions and the two intra-squad national team matches in Derbyshire.
The reliable source on the Pakistani cricket board said that Haris, who will undergo MRI’s scan and has undergone rehabilitation, it seems unprepared for the first ODI against the weakening British forces.
“He has a foot injury and can’t take part in the first ODI and can even miss the remaining two matches,” said the source.
If Haris left-hand can not play on Thursday, it means that Pakistan will have one or two debutants in playing eleven.
Both Batsman Top-Order Abdullah Shafique or Batting All-Rounders Saud Shakil and Agha Salman can make their debut.
One place is expected to go to Batsman Sohaib Maqsood, who replaced Haider Ali in the squad after a sparkling performance in the Pakistani Super League.
Previous Sohail returned home from touring to South Africa and New Zealand due to fitness problems and skipped tours to England last year due to restrictions on Covid-19.
He suffered a back injury during the South African tour in early 2019.
