Haveri: Haveri people rejoice when Basavaraj Bommai was appointed to the office of the Chair of the Karnataka Minister.
People in the relatively new district believe that BOMMAI, where residents have recognized extraordinary faith after implementing it to the Assembly of the constituency of Shiggaon-Savanur, will accelerate the pace of development in Haveri.
Among the old demands of the residents of Haveri is that the government forms a medical college managed by the government.
However, even after six months since the bommai was sworn in as cm, there were no steps taken to bring this dream closer to reality.
Although the class is scheduled to start at the Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) from the academic year of 2021-22, the National Medical Council (NMC) does not provide a nod.
However, the Medical Institute of Medical Sciences Chikkaballapur (CIMS) in the Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar’s Home District, got a nod to start the class of the academic year 2021-22.
Stakeholders in the Haveri District linked the failure of the authorities concerned to start the classes to him due to lack of political will.
The source said that the Karnataka government has appealed to NMC to provide a budget to start classes in medical colleges in Yadgir, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagalur and Haveri.
However, NMC refused approval for all institutions that prohibit one in Chikkaballapur, quoting a lack of infrastructure, in addition to the lack of staff.
The four medical colleges were examined by members of the NMC in August, and a meeting was held with a head of medical college to review the conditions of four universities.
A BJP leader in Haveri regretted the delay in him was given a nod to start the class, even though CM was chosen to the district assembly.
“CM must try to ensure that he was given permission to start the class in 2022-23 academic years,” he said.
Special officers for him, Dr.
Uday Mulagund said, “According to the academic calendar for medical courses, counseling for the MBBS seat began on Friday (January 27).
This exercise will expire on March 31.
Because we have two months, we hope we get NMC approval To start the class, and offer it as an option for students in the second round and third counseling.
