Letter: Hundreds of people on Tuesday joined the 21-year-old Grishma Vekaria funeral procession killed by his Fenil Goyani schoolmate (22) when he refused to have a relationship with him.
The funeral took place after the arrival of the girl’s father from Africa on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, an investigation into murder cases was handed over to the Special Investigation Team (Sitting) formed by the police.
An official ranking deputy supervisor will lead the investigation.
Many residents, some were unable to control their emotions, marched on the roadside and shower flowers in the van carrying the remnants of Vekariya.
The procession is taken under police protection.
The funeral procession starts from Vekariya’s house in Pasodara in Kamrej in the morning and then reaches the Croematorium Ashwini Kumar in the city of the letter after covering a distance of about 10 km.
Many people from various layers of society joined the funeral procession on their motorcycle and in the car as a sign of sympathy for the woman’s family friend and stabbed his brother and uncle.
On Saturday, Goyani allegedly slit the vekaria throat with a knife in a full public view even when his family begged to let him go.
Goyani also hurt his uncle and brother when they tried to save him.
Then, the video was said to be a viral to the social media platform, triggering anger among citizens.
Goyani, who tried to commit suicide by cutting his numeration after the incident, was arrested and a case was listed under relevant provisions.
Police investigations revealed that the defendant and the victim had studied at school together.
