PAARL (South Africa): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has congratulated Marais Erasmus because of the lead in the 100 international day of the man as the referee in the field.
Erasmus, a member of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel Umpires, reached a landmark when he took the field in the first ODI between South Africa and India in Paarl on Wednesday.
“Marais is a referee that is very consistent with fine temperament.
It is not surprising that he has reached this historical milestone and I am sure he will continue to do well in the coming years,” said Adrian Griffith, Senior ICC – referee manager as per official ICC release .
“I congratulate him on behalf of everyone in the ICC and hope he is the best for the future.
He has served the game well and is a role model for many potential referees throughout the world,” he added.
The 57-year-old player, who won the Trophy David Shepherd for Umpire ICC in 2016 and 2017, also led in 70 male test matches, 35 T20IS men and 18 T20IS women since made international debut in February 2006.
“It is an honor to formalize ODI My 100th.
I have enjoyed my time as a referee and will continue to do the best at the moment to come.
My experience as a player clearly helped me during the trip and I got the privilege.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends, without it I can’t come this far,” he added.
As a cricket, Erasmus made his first class to debut for the Boand in 1988-89 and played until 1996-97.
He scored 1,913 runs and took 131 goals in 53 first-class matches.
In the match list, he scored 322 runs and took 48 goals.
